A Note from Rabbi Tirzah Firestone
Dear Friends,

Reb Zalman's first yahrzeit begins on the night of June 21. Please join me and our fantastic musicians as we create a powerful uplift for our Rebbe that night, 7:30 pm, at Nevei Kodesh, with his teachings and a powerful zikr circle created in his honor.

What's so important about a first yahrzeit? The Jewish mystical tradition teaches that after we die our neshama spends an entire year reviewing our lives, studying its accomplishments and deep lessons. One year after the funeral (the first yahrzeit) after completing this "harvesting" process, the soul is ready to rise up and soar. Reb Zalman taught that at this point the soul joins the "avot" (ancestors) and becomes an intercessory--one who intercedes on our behalf in the dimensions beyond this world.

Why should you come? To celebrate and uplift our beloved Reb Zalman with our love and appreciation. And to pray your heart out for peace and healing! Bring your deepest bakashot, needs, requests, and yearnings to our circle. We will be making prayers for planetary and personal needs, and ask our beloved Rebbe to help raise them up. As we lift up Reb Zalman we will ask that he uplift our deepest prayers.

Why a donation? Please make a donation to Yesod at the door for tzedaka in Reb Zalman's name, another way of lifting him up. All proceeds will go to feed impoverished women, children, and families in the Holy Land. The organizations will be posted at the door. No one will be turned away for lack of funds!

I look forward to seeing you in our zikr circle!

With much love,
Reb Tirzah
